Stuff and Disclaimers Regarding Work Submitted to Pedestrian Press/Oakland Review (Just so you know):
*You may query about publishing a full length book or chapbook with us, (and include a sample of the work, please...) but there is no guarantee that we will read unsolicited submissions in their entirety; as with submissions to the journal, you will hear back from us within four months if we are interested* ...No previously published work * All authors and artists retain copyright and ownership of their work... * ...however, works accepted by Oakland Review or the Pedestrian Press may be anthologized. By submitting, the author/artist grants us this right * We run no ads, but curate a list of links to art and literature related websites, at the editors' discretion * We don't write rejection letters *We read submissions promptly! Acceptance emails-if applicable-are sent out no later than four months from the date of the submission. * No bios will be published, with the exception of "Poem of the Week" author bios * We never publish writing by the same author in consecutive issues, excepting serializations * We never feature the same artist in issues less than one year apart in time

Please read the following before submitting unsolicited work. *We accept Poetry, Fiction, and Non-Fiction. *No more than 7,000 words, please. This means anything from ten poems of 700 words each to one short story of 6,997 words, etc. *Please send us your proofed, polished work. Who you are is not as important to us as the quality of your submission. *If your work is accepted you will receive one free contributor's copy. Additional contributor's copies will be made available to you at a 50% discount. *At this time we cannot offer monetary payment for work accepted. *By submitting you grant us the right to anthologize your work. *In general, we are not accepting previously published work. If there are special circumstances, please query one of our editors and explain why you think your previously published piece deserves a second print. *Please send your writing as an attachment, not pasted into the body of your email. *Best of luck. We will respond to your submission no later than 4 months after receiving it if it has been accepted. If your work is not accepted, we will not formally reject it, so please keep track of the time.
